Ku-ring-gai
Annual Charity Golf Tournament - 2010.
Beginning in 1996, we have been organising golf tournaments to support worthy Sydney charities. These tournaments
are played at Gordon Golf Club, situated on Sydney's North Shore.
In the ten years the tournaments have been staged, the beneficiaries have included Bear Cottage for terminally
ill children, the Hart Walker Project of the Sydney Spastic Centre, Sir Eric Woodward Memorial Home for Handicapped
Children, and the Maternity Unit of Ku-ring-gai Hospital. Since 2001 we have supported Telstra Child Flight,
the emergency helicopter service that assists young children and infants across New South Wales.. Their helicopter
based child retrieval system increases the chances of survival of a sick child by a factor of about five, over
road ambulance. This is because of the huge road distances in Australia.
This year the event will again be in support of Child Flight and
will be run on Wednesday 27th October
2010. The event is run as an Individual Stableford and 4BBB Stableford
competition played over 18 holes. As well as prizes for First and
Runners-Up, the tournament also includes prizes for Nearest to the
Pin and Longest Drive. There is also a hole-in-one prize and numerous
other prizes.
The tournament fee is $40.00 per player. The
tournament is open to both men and women with Australian Golf Union handicaps. There will be a separate competition
for players with a handicap from a bona-fide social club.
Tee-off time will be 12:00 noon with a shotgun start. The closing
date for entries will be 21st October,
2010 or earlier if the field is full. The contact numbers for bookings
are (02) 9983 1871 (hm) and (02) 9983 1872 (fx). Or email Reg
Wallin for details.
